Since inception, The Charitable Foundation’s five chapters have provided over 1,000 grants in excess of $5 million to local groups that promote:

The Charitable Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)3 foundation run by real estate agents from our company. It is proof that when people care, they have the ability to make neighborhoods throughout Southern California stronger and more vibrant.

With Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties covering the foundation's administrative costs, virtually all of the donations go to local charities, and events are often fully underwritten by sponsors.

Recognizing that real estate agents are deeply connected to the communities in which they live and work, The Charitable Foundation gives back at the local level. The group raises funds and volunteers to make a difference in four key areas:

  • Community outreach and support
  • Education and development
  • Health and awareness
  • The environment and preservation

The Foundation has chapters in San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties. Their impact can be seen in the hundreds of lives touched, and the many communities their members are proud to call home.

Each chapter donates to its own community.

Since its inception, The Charitable Foundation has provided hundreds of grants totaling approximately $5 million to local organizations that promote health, education, community, and the environment.

At Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, employees and agents are encouraged and actively participate by volunteering their time and talents.

To receive consideration, nonprofit organizations must fall within the four key areas and be located in San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties. Because of their sensitive nature, politically affiliated organizations, religiously affiliated organizations, and private educational organizations are exempt from consideration.

Organizations meeting the Foundation funding guidelines must send the following:

  • Donation request form
  • Additional literature with this request from (a brochure, and/or a page or two of information on
    the organization)
  • A copy of 501(c)3 documents
  • Completed W-9 form

Anyone can donate, including our agents, staff, affiliates, and clients.
